I ended up always going at 100% difficulty and dropping the speed. Still, it's a great tool for experienced guitar players as well as newcomers. Guns n' Roses would be awesome but that will never happen. I guess it would be too easy if notes followed a predictable progression but it all just sounds like a cat on a piano to me and makes my head hurt.ДЇinally, I would love to have all the original Rocksmith songs and DLC, but I guess that's not worked out still? And more DLC would be fantastic, but I guess negotiating with record labels is a big problem. The random chords/notes messes with my musician's brain. The guitarcade isn't very enjoyable for me. I'm thinking 'who were you listening to?' But sometimes I'll get through a phrase that I know I bombed and it tells me great job. The latter I don't mind so much, more practice is always good. The game often seems to hear me incorrectly, sometimes giving me credit for notes I know I didn't hit, and other times saying I missed notes that I definitely made. It seems like using accelerate and riff repeater together doesn't work? Am I missing something? However instead it just drops the speed down and doesn't increase the difficulty. Once I perfect that, it would make sense for it to 'level up' to 80 difficulty and reduce the speed back down to 75% so that I can learn the new bits.

That said there are a few things that bug me:Дoes anyone else have the problem in riff repeater where using accelerate bugs out? For example, it will start at say 75% and 70 difficulty, then accelerate to 100% and 70 difficulty. Session mode is fantastic too for when I just want to jam, I was surprised at how responsive the backups are. I used to try to use audacity to slow things down. Before this, I'd play along with an mp3 and it's such a pain to stop and try to find the right place to restart a section over and over. Rocksmith is worth it alone just for riff repeater. I've been playing the guitar for nearly 15 years and have always been more of an acoustic/rhythm guy, but I own a fantastic Gibson SG that I have been wanting to play more often. I picked Rocksmith 2014 up last week and have been obsessed with it since. So, I'm getting the feeling that it's really a YMMV kind of thing and as long as you're not redonculous with how you hold the pick, you'll be okay.

I googled around for pick-holding videos, and out of the 3 videos, I got 3 different recommendations for how to hold the pick. It took me a long time to get used to a new pick position, and honestly, I'm not really sure it mattered that much in the end. It totally caused me to change how I hold the pick. I found the pick-holding lesson kind of interesting. I saw that some lessons have prerequisites, so I'm hoping that not finishing the bends lessons doesn't prevent me from doing any subsequent lessons. I was going to just start on the lessons past that. I either go to far, or not far enough, and Ihave to wait like 30 seconds inbetween trying when it starts talking.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that can't get past it. I've also kinda gave up on the doing the lessons for now. Ya, I don't really pay much attention to the recommendations anymore. Guitar Hero/Rock band did a better job of this IMHO. Managed to 100% complete a few songs so far and it was immensely satisfying.Дoes anyone know if you can turn off the arcade sounds in score attack mode? I like the scoring part of it but find the arcade sounds off putting. Even getting the bends in Muse's Plug in Baby and that Magic Wands song consistently. There is also a lesson which covers bends which is quite good. Once I figured out how to play the note in pitch and then bend I was golden. The first 5 times I played temple of bends I thought it was broken or I was on the wrong note. I don't think many persevere with the bends because I managed to get in the top 5% chart before my fingers gave way. The temple of bends arcade game is a great way to master it if you have the finger strength and pain tolerance. The tendency is to half bend before picking which Rocksmith detects as a missed bend. You have to start the note at it's normal pitch and THEN bend it. Feels to me that the window to successfully bend a note and not have it count as missed is brutally tight.
